I find her extremely annoying on the show whereas in the books, I just knew her naive obsession with her status and proximity to the castle was just going to get her killed.

You are confused, sir. This is the internet. We should react immediately and draw all sorts of conclusions which we can later ignore without explanation to maintain the illusion that we are always right.

No one should take this show straightforward. The entire subtext of the show is that these characters are naive and have no idea how the "real" world works. They are supposed to be  cringe-inducing while still be relatable because we recognize our own ridiculous insecurities and concerns. Their hypocrisy or conflict…

I'm glad someone pointed out the congruence of spoiled and intelligent. I'd say the correlation between spoiled and intelligent is above 0 for sure.

I suppose it depends on the subset portrayed in the show. For recent college grads (whose parents paid for college) trying to make it in NYC, I don't think this is as uncommon as you want to believe. I am not under the impression that they are trying to portray the vast majority outside of that scope.

The problem with January Jones is that she seems incapable of playing anything other than the petulant (child-like?) ice princess in whatever she's in. While casting her as Betty Draper is fitting, I find her acting similar to an android attempting to mimic human emotion rather than someone embracing a character.

So I'm curious. If ME3 is so terrible (at least in comments), please suggest a game that has done it better recently. I say recently because engaging in dialogue about games we loved when we grew up (Baldur's Gate II, best EVAR!) is irrelevant since our consumption of them as pre-adults makes it an entirely different…
