Dev is what, maybe 8 or 9 so in that first Thanksgiving? I guess it's possible he could've moved to NYC around that age and still says he "grew up" in SC.

I think you underestimate just how foreign being gay is to certain people. It's literally not even a thought or a possibility in their mind. Even if she had the slight suspicion she probably buried it in denial. There's even a line later on where she mentions she noticed Denise seemed smitten by Rachel on Friends but

This title is really not spoiler-y at all, the character in question's sexuality has been established from the start. And "Denise's coming out story" is a basic synopsis that you could find in the Netflix description of the episode.

I don't think it's weird at all. Remember, Denise's mom was still under the mindset that being gay is a "choice" that you would only make if you were raised wrong (which in ~2006 was still a very commonly accepted belief), so the likelihood probably didn't even occur to her.

Honestly I thought Dev's material was easily the weakest this season. The two best episodes of the season - "Thanksgiving" and "New York, I Love You" - featured little of him. And the next best episodes ("Religion" and "First Date") existed completely outside of the main storyline.

There's really no indication of when the other episodes this season are taking place, is there? So who knows, really. I think the timeline of a show like Master of None matters significantly less than most other shows.

I am finally watching Master of None S2 and I feel like there hasn't been a season of TV in a while where I equally love and hate parts of it. The non-Dev episodes like Thanksgiving and New York, I Love You are fantastic but wow that Francesca storyline is horrible.

There is a random holdover episode airing in June so it'll technically be 22.

I would watch a spin-off series about anyone in that episode. It was so good.

Like Tina Fey's character last season, I want to see more of her. This show is really good at portraying broken people.

I really loved the Laura Dern episode.

That line was especially funny because I remember when Ben & Jerry's made a "Liz Lemon Ice Cream" around the time of the 30 Rock finale it was lavender flavored.

Robert Moses College for Whites Everybody

I don't know, I don't think it's much more heightened than the later seasons of 30 Rock which had Jenna literally flying in one episode. (I should note that I love 30 Rock and that scene.)

This season was pretty strong overall and an improvement on the past few seasons, but the focus on celebrities over cast was unfortunate and weighed it down a little.

She was great on Kimmy Schmidt. She's already in so many things and yet she still needs to be in more things.

Her stand-up does have kind of a deadpan-esque delivery that would work well on Update.

Yeah I really hope she gets a chance to shine post-SNL like people like Jenny Slate, Casey Wilson, Noel Wells ect have. Granted she had a more successful SNL run then they did…I guess she's more like a Nasim Pedrad in that she did last for several seasons and make it to repertory status but always seemed just shy of

The show has definitely gotten a lot broader since Iannucci left and even moreso this season, I think. It was never exactly a subtle show (I mean it was the first or second episode that ended with Selena shitting her pants in a frozen yogurt shop if I remember correctly) but there was a progression to big comic

I haven't been keeping up (I plan to catch up at some point) but I saw the "Honk Honk goes the truck" sketch and it was fucking brilliant.
