I thought the first half of S1 was generally charming and fun (if not necessarily great TV) but thought the 2nd half took a pretty nasty, mean turn and left a sour taste in my mouth. So if they're a little less awful maybe I'll try it again.

A lot of critics are saying S2 is a big improvement over S1, which I found borderline unwatchable by the end of the season. Anyone able to confirm or will it be another waste of time?

-Season premieres: "The Eleventh Hour" (Doctor Who S5), "The Beginning of the End" (30 Rock S7), "Anthropology 101" (Community S2), "A Little Kiss" (Mad Men S5)

Season 4 was a little weak at points, and I didn't care for the love triangle arc that year, but even then it still has some of my favorite episodes and lines. 30 Rock is really one of the most consistent long-running sitcoms of all-time, I think.

She was supposedly one of the most sought after actors for pilot season the year after Community ended, so I think maybe she's just being choosy? Hopefully G.L.O.W turns out to be good and better than Love.

Yeah, everyone is assuming he's talking about weed but it seems totally possible he was doing harder stuff and that's why he's been off the show.

Does anyone here watch Detroiters? I binged all 4 episodes so far and it's one of the most weird and delightful comedies I've seen in a while.

Yeah, I think the show righted the ship in Season 6 and went out on a high note, but Season 5 (and even parts of 3) felt dangerously close to the show just trying to be weird and meta for the sake of being weird and meta. (I still love them, though.)

Community is one of my favorite shows ever, but I wouldn't even say they avoided that problem personally. The amount of shows that showed no decay over the years is fairly small.

I think that was their intention but it didn't fully come across to me.

Che and Jost have basically become the "just to play devil's advocate for a second…" guys of late night comedy.

SNL has made their political views more than apparent in the Trump presidency and have had sketches that fairly brutally took down Trump, Bannon, Spicer, and Conway. I see no reason why Sessions can't get the same treatment.

This was definitely not the worst episode in years (the Trump episode was worse, along with a few other clunkers last season) but it was definitely the worst episode of an otherwise strong season.

Oh yeah the Trump brothers were great. The segments are still really good generally.

Yeah, Trump's presidency and conservatives' embrace of him has really showed how much they actually love authoritarianism and how little of a shit they really give about the "constitutional" values they constantly whine and cry about. The entire movement is just pure evil at this point. They'll go down in history as

"Let's confuse our audiences to the point where we don't even have a narrative anymore" seems to be an emerging trend in TV dramas and it's really fucking annoying.

I've never had plain pineapple pizza, but pineapple/bacon is great.

Gillian really needs a better use of her talents than Love. Have you seen Don't Think Twice? It's a much, much better use of her.

I found Parks & Rec really overrated for a period and I still think Seasons 5 and 6 were kind of terrible, but it's a show that has held up really well for me on rewatch. Its optimism (even if it feels misguided now given where politics has gone) is definitely really addictive in a binge-watching setting.

There is a lot of feel-good "conservatives are starting to hate Trump too!" buzz floating around. While I wish it were true, I have very conservative family members who I have to see often and have a lot of exposure to Fox News, so I can unfortunately say that most conservatives are still 100% in the tank for Trump
