Legion is going to allow Hawley to literally just write endless quirks with no concept of story or character development but still have everyone fawn over it because the characters are weird and it looks nice.

Yeah, The Colbert Report would really not work in the Trump era. Frankly, I'm not sure any comedy show has completely figured out how to capture the Trump era yet. I think Full Frontal does a great job just calling out all of the bullshit but it almost doesn't even feel like a comedy show at this point.

The directing, acting, and cinematography are all pretty top-notch. I just find it all rather empty. I haven't seen Legion yet (I'll probably stream it tomorrow) but at least with Fargo, it seems like he is really interested with the way his story looks that he forgets to actually write a compelling story or craft

I think they're going to figure it out, but I did have the same thought. That said, I think if they do it right, a musical-comedy-thriller hybrid could be amazing.

I can't stop thinking about that finale. It was some BoJack Horseman-level, stomach-churning shit.

It's weird because in S1 I actually really liked Fargo, and at the time it seemed like if anything it was slightly underrated to the similar and more hyped True Detective S1. It was nothing particularly amazing and kind of botched the ending, but it was a fun ride.

I am glad there is a slow but steady Hawley/Fargo backlash developing. I think Fargo is solid but it's not much more than well-made pulp, so I don't know why critics fawn over him as God's Gift To Television over one generally solid show.

I had some issues with the pacing and plotting of S2, but this episode forgave almost all of them. If this was their endpoint, then I get why they had to rush through some stuff, and I think what we got is ultimately preferable to the "Rebecca pines for Josh who kinda likes her but isn't that into it" angle. I thought

Holy shit we need to talk about that Crazy Ex-Girlfriend finale!!!!

It's doing pretty well in the ratings and FOX's comedy slate is aging and not particularly well-rated, so I think it's probably going to come back.

The issue with that show was that it had a 13-episode first season, only aired seven of those episodes, then got renewed for a 13-episode second season…so I'm guessing the creators knew that S2 would have some S1 leftovers and tried to write around that, but didn't expect that the S1 episodes would just be randomly

Colin Jost is the epitome of mediocrity and I can't believe people seem to have generally come around on him. He sucks so much!

"We'll Never Have Problems Again" might be my favorite song of the season.

I think the worst example was Don't Trust the B, which had random Season 1 episodes thrown into its second season. Storylines that had already concluded would randomly return, then disappear, then return again.

Mikey Day definitely feels like the most prevalent newbie thus far, although that may be entirely due to his appearance in the David S. Pumpkins sketch.

That would be super cool but imagine how weird it'd be for an entire CEG season to drop in a day. It'd be…overwhelming.

This is a pretty negative take on it. The ratings aren't that much lower than S1's on a much worse night. The CW is less cancel-happy than other broadcast networks - they usually don't like to cancel more than 1 or 2 shows a season and there are two shows doing worse than CEG on the network (Frequency and No Tomorrow).

Thought this was a pretty flat episode, especially for a Christmas show.

That season aired in 2015, no Doctor Who in 2016 (until the Christmas special.)

I don't think the show has gone downhill at all, I'm still enjoying it immensely, but I do think the plot feels slightly less cohesive than S1. I sort of wanted more Rebecca/Josh before rushing them into a break-up, but I guess they needed them to split to resolve the Greg storyline before he left. I am guessing they
