I really love the opening sequence, too.

"Rewatching 30 Rock on Netflix" is my true #1 show of 2015.
I'm a little floored that Orange is the New Black didn't make the list at all, and even more floored that it kind of doesn't feel like an oversight, considering how much it felt like "the most important, most hyped show on TV" in its first two seasons. I don't even think the quality dropped that much this year, I…
LCD Soundsystem is the exception, yeah, but one episode out of 13 is not that bad, and that episode was amazing and perfect for other reasons anyway. (Also, I'd argue it had its funny moments in its portrayal of Rob and Lexi's generic hipster-parent lifestyle.)
If anything, it should be top 4 over one of the Cool Dude Cable Anti-Hero shows.
I honestly think You're the Worst was funnier this season, even if it got a little darker in its storytelling. Everything about the show just felt stronger and more confident, including the humor. I have no idea where these "it just wasn't FUNNY!" complaints came from.
I haven't watched it yet but while I liked S1 quite a bit I felt like it was constantly bordering on having its characters become too annoying for its own good, so…I'm a little worried!
That episode felt like the worst example of the show struggling to stretch its story to 13 episodes when it really only needed 10, which was my only major complaint of the series.
It's really weird! My only explanation is that it aired so early in the year. (S1 aired early too but I kinda feel like a lot of people didn't catch up with it until a lot later.)
Yeah, I have really high hopes for S2. I thought S1 was a great debut season, but it just seems like the kind of show that'll really dig into itself and take off in S2, and the added bonus of it being written for Netflix in S2 makes me really optimistic.
WHATEVER, ALL OF YOU ARE DOING IT
Veep S5
The Americans S4
Mr. Robot S2
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt S2
Master of None S2 (if it happens?)
You're the Worst S3
Broad City S3
Rick and Morty S3 (if we get it this year)
Bojack Horseman S3
I kinda feel like Transparent is one of those shows designed for critics that no one else really likes.
I liked Mad Men's last season but putting it at #1 is somewhat crazy to me when there were so many exciting new shows that made a lot more of a splash. It just kind of reeks of "well, everyone's tastes are so diverse now but here's a show we all watch so it's #1."
This is one of the more disappointing AV Club Best of TV lists. Typically they get it pretty damn right, but this year there were way too many shows way too low (Nathan for You, Broad City, Jessica Jones, Mr. Robot, Rectify, Master of None, Rick and Morty, Bojack Horseman) and a lot of overrated cable drama anti-hero…
Really? I feel like Bob's Burgers is one of the most remarkably consistent shows I've ever seen. I do think Seasons 3 & 4 was probably the show's peak, but 5/6 are not at all far behind to me.
The Americans is kind of a "love it or hate it" show, it seems. It has lots of passionate fans but I know a bunch of people who just can't get into it. I personally really like it, and I think it's worth a shot, especially if you like Mad Men because it has a lot of in common with that show.
Try Mr. Robot!
Have you tried You're the Worst? It's 2 seasons (one 10 episodes, one 13 episodes) and IMO it's the best "traditionally" formatted sitcom since the Community/Parks heyday.
I think this is one of the major reasons why these lists heavily favor drama, too. Dramas are a little more universal, and the big "important" dramas are shows everyone watches. Comedies are more niche by nature, so unless a show makes a big splash (like Broad City last year, or You're the Worst this year, or…
