I enjoyed this episode a lot, but I almost wish we could've gotten full episodes for a lot of the ideas presented. I wanted a lot more of Lindsay's newfound political opinions.

THANKS, OBLUNDER
So um, seriously, what the fuck is Gretchen doing? Cheating seems almost too obvious. And the cast/writers have talked about dealing with a subject "rarely ever dealt with on TV before" this season so I'm wondering what it could possibly be.
Are you going to give this episode a GRADE?
Yeah I'm fearing she's going to end up with Danny, which I don't really like. I was hoping for a non-tragic exit for a change.
I'd say 5 > 4 > 8 > 6 > 1 > 3 > 2 > 7. I like S6 better than a lot of people - it gets messy at the end but it has a lot of all-timers (Doctors' Wife, Girl Who Waited, God Complex).
Yeah, a few years ago (before it became cool to hate Moffat) it was popular consensus that the Davies era was shit and Moffat was the savior of Doctor Who.
Yeah, I'm the same age as you and to me that's prime SNL, along with the early Wiig/Lonely Island era. Poehler/Fey on Update, Lazy Sunday…
Makes sense. The "featured player" description feels pretty arbitrary anyway.
SNL's format makes it hard to achieve consistent greatness, but I would argue every "era" has at least a few seasons where the cast/writers find a groove and everything gels pretty well. This era hasn't had one yet, though.
I think the thing that keeps SNL relevant is that it really is still capable of producing legitimate comedic stars. When you look at the active comedy scene today, a sizable chunk are SNL alums. And the material that most of them go on to do post-SNL is often much better than SNL itself. Even the most recent graduated…
Honestly, the gay marriage prodding in Hillary's sketch was pretty good and a lot ballsier than I expected them to go. It wasn't *that* ballsy, but still.
I feel like Wiig and Samberg only did one year as featured players? But I could be wrong.
A When Harry Met Sally sketch, a sketch that takes place in the '50s, and a sketch about how Millenials are vapid and annoying. SNL has become Drunk Uncle.
The Trevor Noah situation was overblown but this guy actually does kind of seem like a dick.
SNL is now as timely and edgy as your uncle on Thanksgiving!
It all adds to a general feeling of "SNL: We're Barely Even Trying This Year!"
Most of the political stuff was actually solid (other than the weak ass Trump jokes) but everything else was pretty fucking awful. A C sounds about right.
ABC really hyped the premiere, but didn't promote this week's episode as much. I wonder if maybe people turned into the premiere because of the extra promo over it being a "controversial" episode, and then this week those viewers went back to Empire (since this show generally seems to take a hit whenever Empire's on.)
Yeah, I really want a Season 3 but at the same time, if this is the end I can't complain too much. This would be a great, dark series finale to one of the absolute best dark comedies of all time.
