Nostalgia for shitty things existed waaaaaay before Too Many Cooks.

That is a sad, sad schedule.

Yeah, that was the big fault of the episode for me. It's become way too common. It was funny and weird when it happened back in S2 in Blueberries (with Polly from OITNB!) but now it's becoming an easy trope. I loved everything else about the episode though, so I'm not that mad about it.

Yeah, a lot of the people complaining seem to be creating some revisionist history where the first few seasons were some kind of light, goofy comedy. It's never been like that. "God" and "Eddie" are probably the two darkest episodes of the show, and they were in the first 2 seasons.

Louie has always been a very dark comedy. Not really a new thing. This season is actually probably lighter and more comedic than last year.

It's really good, although it's not for everyone.

Yeah, I think she's said before that she came up in a very "boys' club" type of way, so it makes sense that only now would she start to feel comfortable exploring feminist topics.

I would actually say Louis CK is a good comparison to Schumer's brand of comedy. Both of them sometimes resort to vulgarity/shock humor, but there's almost always an underlying point to it.

NBC syndication cuts are…odd. I remember they blanked out "pooping" from 30 Rock's syndication cuts.

You need to watch Broad City!

Every episode of S3 has been really great so far. I might just start there. There's no continuity whatsoever.

I didn't mind the idea of concept episodes, to me the problem with S5's was that most of the concept episodes were uninspired retreads of past concept episodes. The one that truly felt original (App Development) was fantastic.

I think "shit" isn't even censored in basic cable anymore, right?

For what it's worth, Titus is probably the most "normal" main character on UKS.

I think she can be both things. Mostly Sex Stuff seemed like a combination of shock-jock type humor and subtle gender commentary, and some of that material does still make its way into Inside Amy Schumer (remember the Latina stand-up bit last season?). I don't think that her playing towards the gender politics side of

Interesting, because I've definitely seen censored South Park episodes later. Maybe the older episodes are still censored?

I do think, if you took the 10-13 best episodes of New Girl from each season, you'd have a genuinely great show. It's sort of a tough balance though because I always feel like I need more episodes of cable comedies, but shorter seasons really is a lot better for quality control (just look at Always Sunny.)

This is pretty accurate. It does sometimes rise above that level though, particularly in Season 2 which deserves to be in the conversation of best recent seasons of a comedy. This past season was also consistently good.
