Did we ever find out if there's going to be ad breaks?
Did we ever find out if there's going to be ad breaks?
This is the only hesitation I really have about it, because most of the concept episode reprises in Season 5 kind of sucked and caused the back half of the season to…well, kind of suck, after the front half was the strongest run of episodes in a while.
Community is a sitcom in its sixth season, it's not going to reinvent the wheel the way it did in its early days. I don't care if they have to reuse ideas. I just want the episodes to be good. That's all I ask for, really. If they can make another paintball good then go for it!
It's definitely not better than Bob's Burgers yet. I would also rank Happy Endings above it, although it's close. I like it significantly better than B99, though (which I really like).
THE G TRAIN NERMAL!!!!
It's kind of a crapshoot to predict what the Emmys will and won't cling to, but this has a few things going for it: 1) The Emmys have generally been kind to Netflix shows in terms of nominations (although not necessarily in terms of wins) and 2) Fey/Carlock have some prestige, since 30 Rock was a big Emmy darling.…
I honestly feel like I'm hearing more people outside of the obsessive TV nerd circle talk about it than I did with 30 Rock. I think it's slightly more accessible than 30 Rock too, though.
It wasn't quite up to "I WAS CYBER BULLIED WITHIN AN INCH OF MY LIFE LAST NIGHT", but it was not too far off.
Did anyone see Todd's piece on the colors of UKS from earlier this week?
I didn't LOVE the last two episodes as individual pieces of TV, but they wrapped the season in a way that made the rest of the season click really nicely. If that makes sense.
That's just for the first six episodes. For OITNB, they had an early review of the first 6, then a wrap-up review for the entire season, then episodic reviews. I figured that's how they'd be handling all Netflix shows but I guess not.
I really disliked her at first, but she grew on me as the season progressed. I really liked her in episode 10.
It's hard because I just want to talk about the whole season! They should have a season wrap-up review where anything is fair game, like they did for OITNB.
Yeah the quality of TV is the same as it's ever been - lots of great stuff, lots of shitty stuff. You could even argue it's better now because it's starting to be seen as more of an "artform" thanks to prestige shows.
Daddy's Boy FTW (but both were great)
I really love Domino's when I'm high but generally can't stand it otherwise.
It's not fair. I wish Broad City would never end :(

THIS IS WHAT I THINK OF BEING ON CAMERA RIGHT
I thought they did a good job of hanging a lampshade on the Dong jokes. It basically seemed like their way of something "look, Dong is a funny name and it's very easy for us to make jokes about it but it's also kind of not cool." (And then there's no more Dong jokes from that point forward, FWIW.)
