Yeah, the nice thing about this show was that the sketches seemed perfectly timed, with an appropriate beginning, middle and end that came at just the right time. The game show sketch was a particularly good example, with a new twist being thrown out every time the old one was getting tired.

This was a pretty strong episode. If you had watched the previous show I'm sure your opinion would've been different.

You're totally allowed to think that, but you're not allowed to yell about how no one else should think she's funny if you don't want to look like a total asshole.

He is a recurring character, not a regular cast member, so he's not going to be around all of the time.

I love how this show totally twists "crazy husband, sane wife" formula and lets Bow be just as crazy as Andre. Often it'll start off going down the route where Bow has to talk Andre down but then something happens and Bow winds up being just as crazy or even crazier (do it BETTER!).

Actually let's not, because that's fucking stupid.

"Not liking things that other people like makes me cool!!"

B99 is doing pretty well, so probably not.

I'm not really a huge fan of the idea of a character being used just as a symbol for the fans, so this reasoning doesn't make me feel better. It was the only thing I didn't really like in a generally very good finale.

I was a pretty big RTD defender during the era where everyone loved to shit on him and hail Moffat as king, but now I find the hardcore RTD fans to be a little absurd. No one can argue that RTD handled the Master well. And anyone who moans about Moffat's treatment of women but is totally okay with Rose and Donna's

Yeah, plus the idea that Jeff led to Shirley's divorce which led to Britta quitting anarchy is a huge one that S4 Community was not equipped to deal with. Hell, Harmon Community probably wouldn't even have been up to that task. It's a big deal.

I feel like that was the most nihilistic Doctor Who finale ever, which I kind of admire.

I think that's an interesting theory, and I think the show plays with some interesting concepts like that in this episode (Shirley pointing out how close the group's happiness is to destruction was one of those nicely real S4 moments that was so rare) but I think it kind of gave up on all of those ideas halfway

Ok so yes, she is definitely Dan Harmon.

So…she's basically Dan Harmon?

Yeah, I think there's been a fair amount of distinction between Nina and Jane (unlike, say, Penny and Annie on Marry Me, not that I mind) but that was 100% Jane, through and through.

Yeah technically it's not a bottle episode, but it has the structure of one and there was only one scene that didn't apply, so I'll allow it.

This might be the show's most consistent season so far at this point. It hasn't hit the highs of S2 but every episode has been at least good (not necessarily the case in S2 - remember Neighbors?)

New Girl is on the democrat list too. I guess the takeaway from this is that Zooey Deschanel is going to fix the broken political system in America?

When comedy does take a political slant though, it's almost always liberal, and I think Dennis gets at why that is. Whenever conservatives try to do right-wing based political humor it almost always falls embarrassingly flat.
