I thought she was really out of place at first, but by the end of the season she had started to fit in to the show's particular kind of insanity pretty well. Maybe it was just that she didn't really work when combined with Liz - I'm glad they dropped the Single White Female plotline.

I haven't seen all the Awake episodes, but the premise leads me to suspect the twist is that neither reality is real, and in fact he was the only one injured in the car crash and has been in a coma since then. (Or he's been in a coma and both family members are dead, possibly.)
