I actually liked her in the season 1 episodes - she was the only character who wasn't all about/entirely focused on Sherlock, and I thought it was valuable for the show to have at least one character with a more detached perspective. She also had at least some role in the investigations, there, and had a little more

Reading this and thinking about what brilliance might have been just made it even more painful for me. Damn.

For something related to this that's non-depressing, this article by Dan about the future of TV is pretty funny. Though, if I'd seen it earlier, I probably would've known he wasn't going to be with the show next season.

Hell, I think even best-case scenario it'll be like the 7th season of Gilmore Girls - well-intentioned attempt to stay true to the tone and the rhythm of the thing, but without the person/people who ran and controlled everything it generally felt hollow. You know, I don't know that there even is any Jeff/Troy, come to think of it. And surprisingly little Abed/Troy, considering. Like Girls' is reputed to, fandom tends to focus mostly on the white people.

Same here - you may also have watched too much of the WB in the late '90s. Commercials for it with that song were pretty much inescapable there.

I would emphatically *not* be weirded out by Donald Glover in a sex scene.

Probably true. I think the idea was that, since more people watch TV at 9 than 8 (if only because the 8 PM shows come on at 7 in some timezones, when people are still coming home from work), they'd put the more accessible episodes then. Not that that seemed to work, considering the total viewers actually went down a
