"Portia, one of the most purely lovable of all of Shakespeare’s characters"—Really, Todd?  Are we not supposed to mind that she's blatantly racist, not only against Shylock but also against the Prince of Morocco?  Sure, she's spunky and smart, but like all the characters in the play, she's incredibly problematic.
