I wouldn't say it's one of the greatest novels of all-time, but I also wouldn't say it's pulp. Pulp tends to be one dimensional (actually if someone asked for a definition of "pulp fiction" or "pulp art", I would say just that). Watchmen is anything but. It is ripe for interpretation.
