Murray, in book 6, I was so disappointed that Rowling made Snape a bad guy. It was way too obvious. But she recovered quite well in Book 7.

I really loved the last book, mostly because it was so anticlimactic.

tymac, I think that you're right in the short run, but that by no means they didn't NEED to come back to fix/prevent a future problem.

Chrissy- that's good. That's REAL good.

Great episodes come in two categories: The "Constant" category, which moves the plot forward in a major way, and the "Pine Barrens" category, which is outside the major plot points, but gives you a necessary break. The van episode was definitely one of the finest examples of the latter.
