I have a ton of books about peril and exploration (sometimes both) at sea.  Just haven't gotten to read them yet.

Are we BFFs?  Cuz I read it and loved it and recommend it to everyone I know.  I probably have 5 or 6 copies of it, as I pick them up whenever I find them, so I can just give them away if anyone I know wants to read it.

Edit: Sepinwall does not equal Sepich. I've got Blood Meridian on the brain.

I have that one on the shelf, one of many books I think about reading everytime I see it in the used bookstore I frequent.  I really need to read it, but I'm re-reading Cormac McCarthy books I love and just started reading Robert B. Parker's Appaloosa.

Yet another passion of mine, though I'm no mountaineer.  I love reading about exploration and mountaineering.  So many good books on the deadly mountains, I've got several on Mallory and Irvine, plus multiple books by those associated with the 1996 disaster that Krakauer experienced, including Anatoli Boukreev's.

I'm waiting on two books I really wanted, though neither are fiction.  The funny thing is, both seemed to have been ordered from the same website, by different people.  One of them I'm hoping hasn't actually been sent out, as I know the author via Facebook and would like to send it to him to be signed. It's a book

I read it at least once a year, this year's reading will be number 4.  It's my favourite book, and I know what you mean.  The mere discussion makes me wanna start that re-read right now.

Notes on Blood Meridian by John Sepich is another great choice, for an overall breakdown of McCarthy's sources and themes.  I still need to get Chamberlain's book, I really want to read it.

My favourite part (at least of what you have read) is the Comanche attack.  Especially the description of the warriors as they reveal themselves, followed by the sergeant's response to the event (and in a way, McCarthy's lengthy description).I just read No Country For Old Men again (I've decided that I want to get

Hey, @avclub-1cd45c346398d2ee6a71296e1fa88796:disqus , I have something I want to ask you about, but I don't know if I should here.  Nothing weird, just a post you made years ago that I re-discovered.
