This is a hilarious image to me. Just the idea of you trying desperately to say "He is an alive black man, he is not Steve McQueen the actor" and being unable to say those simple words.

This seems to be a very common statement. Everyone I know in real life who watches it talks about how scary it is to the point where I thought I'd get some scares.
Sure let's do it!!!
I'm curious to see how that stuff proceeds.
I never got your Message about the 4 for Tuesday! Man, Disqus has not been notifying me lately.
(yeah I looked that up and was also shocked that she is 42. Then again S and I have just been watching Elementary with Lucy Liu who, as we all know, does not age)
Yeah seriously, that face.
I kind of like that she surrenders herself to him in every scene. I can see it being problematic, politics-wise, but I like relationships in shows with super super messy interactions and the idea that she is so strong except around him is really interesting to me.
I liked the scene in itself. I didn't see it as romantic at all. I found it depressing and intense. I also liked how it hinted at us all the power dynamics that are probably at play between the two.
I am almost positive that Quinn has an insane backstory that we will discover. First because it is just that kinda show and two because I vaguely recall people talking about one of the staff members having a shadowy past.
God damn it.
Oh I really enjoyed his machinations, I didn't mean it in a "NOOO DUMB SHOW" way I meant it in a "I GET REALLY ANXIOUS AT MISUNDERSTANDINGS AND MANIPULATION NOOOO"
I'm excited as balls for the insanity that I hear awaits me in season 2. And hey, if it never gets that good again? I'm ok with that. Dexter will always be one of my favorite shows despite only the 2nd season being excellent.
Oh I know, I agree with you. I'm saying it seems harsh from how quickly praise of the season opener went to "meh" or "THIS SHOW IS SO PROBLEMATIC" in the span of a short time.
Sure lets do it! I'll start us off I guess and you and our other buddy can join in.
Well, I was definitely exaggerating haha. But I have seen the equivalent of that sentiment on twitter. Talking, in the 2nd episode, about how it had all these problems and was basically a bad show. From the same people who were obsessed with it in the premiere.
Wow, this show went from "EVERYONE YOU SHOULD REALIZE SCANDAL IS THE BEST SHOW ON TV A+++++ PREMIERE" to "THIS SEASON SUCKS" so fast with the critics I have whiplash.
Actually never saw that one.
the only thing I remember from Fay Grim is Jeff Goldblum telling one of the other agents to "go get an ice cream" in a way that cracked me up.
I think Trust, Unbelievable Truth, Simple Men and Amateur are all excellent movies (and fairly different from one another and Henry Fool) so yeah give them a shot.
