OK, crazy theory moment. Naomi's basically handed the Protomolecule over the Fred, and the standard rules of storytelling say that Holden will find out before the year is out and it'll put stress on their relationship.

Steven Strait's not the best actor in the world in terms of line readings, but his facial expressions are fantastic. He's really sold Holden a few times, notably when he found the coffee machine on the Roci and last week when he and Miller are talking over the comm.

I really enjoy them. The first two are good, light reads that draw you in very well and are very exciting. As the series progresses they lose a bit of that zing, but the worldbuilding ramps up, the characters get rounded out more (a lot of characterisation that's only added in later books was used in the show to

Miller's last scene got me in a way that the book didn't. Thomas Jane gave Joe Miller life so well, Florence Faivre never had much to do but she really sold that otherworldly protomolecule/Julie thing, and the way the two connected was incredible. I knew exactly what was going to happen and I was still speechless.

I finished it about a week before the show came back. I enjoyed it, but it and Nemesis Games sorta felt like the Expanse's equivalent to A Feast for Crows/A Dance with Dragons. Lots of shuffling around of characters, lots of different points of view, and it really felt like Abraham and Franck were setting up

The Doctor on the Marasmus said something like "we recognise a Martian gunship when we see one, even with the gas hauler paint job"

Eros is a number of orders of magnitude more massive than the Nauwoo. But this isn't about the interaction of the gravitational pull of their relative masses. Eros moved under its own power, at a speed that should have turned Miller into paste.

I wouldn't be surprised if they get Book 2 finished in the 7 episodes and end with "hey, we need to talk"

Joey Joe-Joe!

It could well be that there were bulkheads and security doors which got cut through and we just didn't see that bit for time and money reasons. While there is more detail to that sequence in the books, even there they sort of zoom along to finding Dresden and the scientists.

The way he ran with the Rabid Puppies' attempt to use him to discredit the Hugo Awards was amazing. I really want to get his "ASIMOV, HEINLIEN, C CLARKE, TINGLE" T-shirt

>>• Why were the guards at Thoth Station using gel rounds? Surely such a black site would take into consideration the possibility of a breach, right? I mean, they just got boarded by a team that took out their stealth super ship, shouldn't they have more than just jelly? I totally did not understand that scene

It's a pretty common thing in literary SF, especially transhuman fiction. I like that they've brought Radcliffe back to that part of his work

IIRC that was a publicity still from a special feature for the miniseries' DVD, so it was probably filmed and/or taken well before he saw the show

The anime remake (Yamato 2199) from a few years back is phenomenal, and the second series starts this month!

>>"Feeling Kinda Naughty" not edgy enough?

She's certifiably cute

I'm not ashamed to say I teared up a little bit during the reprise, at least a little bit because there's no way Rebecca was getting the happy ending she was expecting.

She can't be held responsible for her actions

>>Also, even the most level headed person would be crushed by being abandoned on their wedding day, whether they somehow "deserved it" or not.
