I recently read "A Little Life" after hearing how it's supposed to be some millenial masterwork. I honestly thought the process of reading it was actual torture, much worse than the countless (and beyond ridiculous) forms of torture Jude was party to throughout the book.

If hearing a guitar is all you consider to be exciting, then maybe.

*all songs written and composed by Radiohead*

Listen to 'Identikit'

Me too!! I threw my Wii controller out of my apartment window in frustration. Literally the most frustrating moment in my history of playing video games. FUCK THAT NOISE

Oh boy, you went there.

it's a great album. Add Bullet Proof… I Wish I Was to that list!

I prefaced with my bias, but would dispel your little statement on how it should "automatically" be an "A" - surely there are Radiohead albums I don't think are this awesome. I simply stated my, yes, opinion. I think this is a near-perfect album and stated reasons for thinking so.

Yeah, I probably could have gone with a better choice of words there. I just read the review as him glossing very broadly over the album, saying all the usual stuff, and then tossing on a grade at the end that didn't really line up with what he was saying anyway.

I love Hail to the Thief. I'm honestly at a loss as to why it is so often overlooked in their discography, or just simply labeled as a pretty good album and nothing more. I would definitely place it as one of the five. Which should not at all take away from Bends or Amnesiac, both of which are certainly awesome in

Exactly.

Agreed. I get the sense that the author really doesn't have a clue on what he's talking about.

I am a huge fucking Radiohead fan, so I apologize for the following (where I embrace the stereotype of annoying Radiohead fan):

To absolutely no one's surprise, it's really fucking good.

This is a really good album, but "Obama" is a really bad song.

Holy fucking shit.

Agree with this. Some of the more politically-charged songs feel really forced and totally lacking in subtlety.

for me, this is an instant classic in the Radiohead catalog. Did anyone else hear Greenwood's There Will Be Blood score when those strings came in?

There was ABSOLUTELY no suspense in that scene. You'd have to be pretty fucking oblivious if you seriously expected Jon Snow not to be resurrected while watching it (even in a perfect world where the show runners didn't spoil it on social media).

I like GOT a lot, but the show really mucked up this Jon Snow business. It killed him off to produce cheap thrills, and then resurrected him for similar reasons. That is not decent storytelling. It's the creators pandering to what they assume to be the core audience.
