the movie of my life has already been made, and the actor chosen totally pulled it off. I am of course referring to the critically praised Sahara, and it's stellar leading man, Matthew McCounaghey.

I do not hate Avey, and I also wouldn't say Panda Bear is more present on this album than any other AC album. He lent far more to MPP, both in vocals and production, and that album is lauded because of its cohesion which I think has to do with Panda Bear. The band even admitted that they took a different songwriting…
I quite liked Down There, but did not enjoy Pullhair Rubeye. I think that album especially gets at my mild annoyance with him as a musician. And I really wasn't a big fan of Slasher Flicks, either. Whereas everything Panda Bear touches is gold, and I would argue that Person Pitch is the finest thing any member of…
I agree! But, I think that is sort of the problem, and maybe I was not clear in explaining this originally. I think that Avey has kinda fallen off the deep end in recent years, and has turned himself into a gimmick. Whereas Panda Bear has been on a huge winning streak, and MPP was made all the more glorious due to…
WHOA! I respect and admire your opinion even though I disagree with it vehemently.
I consider AnCo my favorite band, which explains why I view this album as a huge let down. I also disagree with the reviewer here; some of these songs come off as so muddled, a kitchen sink of every single style AnCo has previously incorporated. I think when more of the control is given to Avey, and Panda has less…
this hits the nail right on the head!
Witty, your Kanye West-Eno comparison is the most revelatory interpretation of Kanye West as an artist I've read since TLOP was released. Honestly, as much as I love Brian Eno, his singing is more or less atrocious. Though I do enjoy a lot of West's songs when he is rapping (Power, Gone, Diamonds, etc.), I will…
See, e.g., My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
1 - MBDTF
2 - TLOP
3 - 808s and Heartbreak
4 - Yeezus
5 - College Dropout
6 - Late Registration
7 - Graduation
I generally agree, but I thought Ye was in top notch form for his verses in No More Parties, 30 Hours, and Real Friends. And he was good in the latter half of Famous.
I share in the universal disgust surrounding West's opening line on Famous. But that doesn't change the fact that the song is start to finish one of the most beautifully conceived rap songs ever put to tape. The abrupt transition to the Sister Nancy sample near the end is a perfect example of what makes Kanye so…
I've never spent a dime on any Kanye album, and I'm more than willing to disagree with his girlfriend.
I agree. No More Parties is as close this album comes to the "old Kanye" and it is incredible - it would seem most people hate on it because it's Kanye and it is cool to hate on all things Kanye. Also, 30 Hours is a solid, solid track. That Arthur Russell sample is genius. Easily on of the album's best.
Don Draper and Rachel Menken - the way this played out in the final season destroyed me.
If another human being were silly enough to marry me I sincerely hope this is the centerpiece jam at our wedding.
I needed this. Feels like 1993 all over again. Bravo, Darin!
Yes, but I honestly can't think of any black-centric films or films with black stars as leads as belonging in any year-end list. Well, I would argue that Beast of No Nations does—but the others (I'm looking at you Spike Lee, and Straight Outta Compton) were not all that good. This is a problem in and of itself,…

Seriously! I wish the rest of her face would move in addition to her mouth when she talks.
