I don't read it as meaningless. I read it as Arya stepping back somewhat from the nihilistic path she was on which has been a strong character point since she escaped Kings Landing. It might not have reached everyone's desired levels of Arya badassery for which they yearn. That seems to be the whole point.

Character hate worthy or performance hate worthy? In general they are better on Flash in both regards. Cisco was insufferable for awhile but has improved. Iris' performance has gone from horrendous to passable. Nothing as low as how bad nearly every performance on Arrow was for awhile.

She's fine. She has the thankless job to make sure the commentators make their points in 45 seconds or less and move the show on.
