I'd rather see more material from the "Long Halloween" / "Dark Victory" period.

The Animated Series' Riddler was the best incarnation - he's just an arrogant ass who thinks he's smarter than everyone else. At the end of his origin episode, Batman doesn't even catch him - as they escape his 'death trap', he tells them he's been broadcasting from a plane that's already on its way out of the

Great Hastur, no one said that mindless summer action flicks are bad. But you know what? They don't get an automatic goddamn pass either.

It's usage here has turned the word into a strawman, so anyone can be a hipster.
Someone constantly accusing others of being one is on the list of constituting a regular, grade-A douche however.

The problem is that there *is* a supernatural element at the end (in the have-it-both-ways "or WAS IT?" sense). It should've been an odd 'non-mutant/religious/magical' case, but it seems like they shied away at the last minute. (I'd have to dig my old X-Files guide out of storage, but IIRC correctly they did add

Wait…
So I have to play this game "Castaway" to find out the answers to LOST?

Titanic
I admit, I was choked up inside a little at the raft scene after the ship sank. When Dave learned Lisa didn't have any coffee and decided to end it all - well, that's gripping drama at its finest. And of course, it was Phil Hartman's swan song.
I'm not sure why you included a TV episode in a list of movies,

I bought a "Lard Lad Donut" at Universal's Quik-E-Mart out of curiosity - it was actually kinda good.

"X-COPS" was well done. Considering William Gibson is one of my favorite authors, I couldn't help but be a little disappointed by his eps.

I was a little disappointed by "Irresistible", in that it being one of the 'monster of the week' episodes felt a little forced. There really wasn't any reason that they had to do the silly 'shapeshifting' at the end, which IIRC led to debates by fans whether he was related to the aliens, or something. (In

For one thing, he's certainly participating in the commentaries - which have mentioned various times that Groening had disagreed with something or changed something, so he does have some involvement.

Didn't Care For Season One
The first time around. I was a fan of the "Tracey Ullman Show", and watched "The Simpsons" based on that. When they started coming out on DVD, I skipped over to start at Season Two, and a few years later I was given Season One as an Xmas present.
You know what? The commentary sold me.

Dora the Explorer, sadly enough.

Groening is a lot more involved than other people that have been in the same position - he could've easily said "Just keep the checks coming" and shrug if someone asked him anything about the show.

Maybe I misunderstood that this was going to be an episode-by-episode examination of the Simpsons, starting with the first.
Can we dispense with the "Season N was the first bad season" already?

Pete's right - Mongo can go fuck himself. Rush is one of the most underrated bands of the 80s, and mocking it simply because it was Canadian-based is the height of ignorance.

Buckaroo
They tried to sell it to Fox as a TV series about a decade or so ago. The test for it is on the movie DVD.
Yeah, it seems like an easy show that would write itself, but on the other hand, Fox would've been up to the task of ruining it.

There was a number of good things that happened in the Seventies. But really - were you going to even be aware of the existence of 'punk rock' living in suburban Florida?
This was pre-computers, pre-Internet, pre-VCR, pre-video games - yeah, I know they were just coming out with most of these but they were novelties

80s?
I'll give you that, Todd. But as someone who was a little kid during the 70s, the weird whitewashed look-backs - like "That 70s Show" - makes me ill. It was an incredibly ugly and boring decade when kids (as the Rifftrax crew mentioned over "The Star Wars Holiday Special") were basically waiting for video games

MGK guesses possible answers, and obviously doesn't get that the ending was about LOVE and FRIENDSHIP and LOVE and is an incurable cynic who hates life.
