Another Boring Plagarist
You know, plenty of other authors have drawn inspiration from the pseudo-non-fiction "Holy Blood, Holy Grail", but for someone who ripped it off wholesale it's astonishing that his book/movie was less interesting and exciting. And there's no excuse for that.
Hell, there's a novel for a

There's nothing wrong with disliking a game, as long as you aren't ranting about how no one else should as well.
And BioShock 2 looks to be quite awesome, indeed.

Nope. The cap is lifted immediately. Keep in mind that it also will throw in the tougher monsters as well…

Replayability
I like to get my money's worth, and replayability is one of the keys for a computer game, for me at least. "Sandbox" type games, I hope, become more prevalient than linear ones.
"Broken Steel" bodes well for the future as far as DLCs go as innovation - after all, most DLCs prior were crap. The fact that

Future plans
The directors shouldn't rest on their laurels, there's Blair Witch 3 to be made!

I think that it does resonate with some people, whereas others find it pretentious and/or dull… like most cult films, actually. There's nothing wrong with liking, or disliking the film. There is something wrong with shoving it into other people's faces and insist they watch it, or telling people that they have no

Lovecraft was ahead of his time as far as sci-fi roots go, though - he was drawing inspiration from Einstein and Hubble in the 1920s.

Tom Petty
Would probably like for Billy Bob to shut the fuck up by now.

Planetarium
I had the same terrifying nightmare from going to the planetarium as Donna did - I was about four, and saw presumably the similar show about the sun dying. I was somehow old enough to understand that, but not comprehend the concept of "millions of years".
I got over it (mainly by understanding the

I agree. Christian acts more like a "spirit of the dead", although not an incarnation of the smoke monster. Locke acts more like a person who's been given a literal second chance at life.

Daniel's mom - aka "Ellie" - is one of the Others. Since she has appeared with Widmore - and was mentioned in conjunction with Widmore in the last episode, yeah, I'd say she knows him.
Considering that Ben threatened to kill Alex, and everything else Danielle had gone through… consider the NO WAY cancelled.

Ben was done with killing Penny just before Desmond attacked him. The apology was ambiguous to set up the scene, but in hindsight he's probably apologizing for (a) shooting him and (b) attacking his wife.

Jacob is being played in the finale by a brand new actor and he's supposedly going to be at various moments in the Losties' lives… so, doubtful.

DHARMA as the Foe?
With Ilana's cryptic question - and the preview for next week - I think a question I've had will finally be answered. Mainly "Who is going to be the 'enemy' for the final season?"
Widmore has been exposed as someone wanting revenge on Ben but still seems to be devoted to the Island. Therefore,

Good call on Planetary. I asked Warren Ellis at a convention whether or not Marvel was aware of "The Four" since Ellis was doing "Ultimate Fantastic Four" at the time - he dryly remarked that if they had, they weren't saying anything about it.
And we did find out what Dr. Girlfriend, said, just indirectly.

First Times
Blade Runner. Twin Peaks. MST3K. Max Headroom. Buckaroo Banzai. The Prisoner. Back in the pre-Interweb days when you could make discoveries of something cool that resonated with you that nobody you knew had seen before.

Here's the implication that Miles was making:
(a) events that they knew happened when they were in 2004 are still going to happen. People who died will die and people who lived will live. That can't be changed.
(b) Since they weren't aware that they were around in 1977, all bets are off about their own

Re: the conflict - this is only 1977. The Purge doesn't happen until 1992. (And technically, Rousseau's team landed before the Purge, so I was dissapointed to see that wasn't explained during her "flashback").

Smarter than him? Ben consistently fooled poor old Locke… and just as much got fooled by Jack. (and recently, Sun's awesome smackdown).

Remember that (a) Desmond was in a "race around the world" sponsored by Charles Widmore that coincidentally ended with him on the Island and (b) Henry Gale's balloon had sponsorships all over it.
I have to think that this was Widmore's effort to locate the Island again after being exiled.
