"Mag" refers to the direction the film magazine is facing when mounted. Of course, that lexicon is a bit dated. "Girls" is shot on the Arri Alexa(http://i.imgur.com/HcP6dSr…. so there is no magazine.
Yeah that didn't make sense to me. Were we to assume they had a falling out?
It means the dolly moves in the direction of the lens, as opposed to, say a lateral movement. I'm not suggesting anyone is an idiot. I simply work in the industry and wanted a technical distinction to be recognized.
