I sadly have to agree with your assessment Leonard. I loved the first few episodes but I thought this one really got dragged down by the soap opera-y elements (OMG Michelle is tots gonna break it off with David!). Having said that, though, I would still rather watch an hour with Ian McShane than most…
Stevedores
The dock scenes really needed more Ziggy. And more pet ducks.
I almost feel bad for the actor. I mean, could someone have three creepier roles on their resume? Between this, Mad Men, and Mulholland Drive I'd say he's the go to man for "creepy-weasel-guy."
Yeah, last we saw, a bunch were at the Temple with a dead Rousseau and Karl outside. I will be verrrrrry interested to see what happened to the inhabitants of New Otherton post-freighter.
That is great, but it only gets better when Norm tells the frat brothers to go back and do something "latently homoerotic." And then they do.
My love for this film is unending. I still quote many parts of it and usually get confused, blank stares in return. Sigh.
Well no wonder he keeps coming back, you keep giving him tree-fiddy
While I agree that Jack did get a little annoying by the end of the episode I don't think he was completely devoid of good qualities. He did do the right thing with his troops and, as David pretty much acknowledged during his expletive-laden press conference, he was generally well thought of by the military folks. …
I laughed so very hard when they showed Kenny's funeral at the end. Death by BJ, truly the only way for Kenny to go.
Yeah, that song was pretty much the funniest thing all night, especially being played over the ridiculous car chase. "The cat is not good" indeed . . .
His dick-ness is indisputable. The more I think about this show the more I believe that Locke and all the other castaways are all just pieces in the Big Game being played by Ben, Widmore, Hawking and the rest of that crew. Why else would one little piece of information (Locke's knowledge of Hawking) turn Ben from…
"Death . . . BY SNU-SNU!"
Noel's right
The animation over the closing credits to Wall-E is key. I think all of the people who claimed the movie was too "bleak" didn't watch the credits
How dare he!
"God is great"? Bill Maher just went to track down that guy and punch him in the face
Good call on Lapidis, that was definitely a highlight. His clean-shaven calm acceptance of the inevitable was pretty classic.
The one thing I wondered about was Hawking saying that the Island is constantly moving through time and that was why nobody found the castaways in the first place. If so, why so much more movement post-Donkey Wheel turning and will the now 70s bound O6 be moving forward any time soon?
Thank you, I can't believe it took this long for the greatness that was the Hammer cartoon to make its appearance on this board. Maybe in this show Hammer can again save the day with his parachute pants that double as . . . wait for it . . . a parachute!
I think Big Balls had to be left off because it's not an ode to someone else's body part but rather a brag about his own. However, this in no way diminishes my love of that song.
"Three is a Magic Number"?
