New Mad Men theory: the entire run of the show is foretold in the lyrics to the Slint song "Don, Aman"

It would actually be awesome if the episodes premiered once a month and therefore ran year-round with no break between seasons. They wouldn't have to change their shooting schedule. You'd just roll them out differently.

The interesting thing about the credits isn't so much the falling as that they end with the silhouette seated comfortably and seemingly in total control.

It got to me too and yeah I felt ridiculous too. I thought it was one of the all-time best SNL moments.

Long, long ago. 1990. Bonds, Bonilla, Van Slyke era.

Native Pittsburgher here and this story could not possibly surprise me less. Very old population, working-class city, not a hell of a lot going on, sports-obsessed. Pittsburgh is tailor-made for watching a shitload of TV.

Best pilots ever:

Coach Buries A Grudge is probably my favorite episode of Cheers.

Yes but what does a yellow light mean?

I had never heard anyone say "have a catch" before either and have never heard it since, but it does make sense to me.

Without question Quiz Show is one of my ten favorite movies of all time, as evidenced by the user name I just registered. Quick Cool Story Bro alert: I crashed the premiere party for this movie. It was appropriately in the bar in the skating rink at 30 Rock in the summer of 1994. My girlfriend and I had crashed
