I tried to think of any song that sounded even halfway as good in a recut version as the original recording, and the only one I could come up is Elton John's Grey Seal (originally a B-Side, recut for Yellow Brick Road). What else is there?

Doesn't copyright in the EU only last 50 years? I remember reading about the fuss caused when the copyrights expired in Europe for Elvis' early recordings.

Yeah but have you ever watched a CW station outside of prime time? They usually have tons of infomercials and Steve Wilkos-esque talk shows. Maybe that's the real problem; nobody's watching their affiliates and thus missing promos.

They kinda had to do it. Otherwise the ceremony would have come off as "Britain used to be a great country, but doesn't mean anything now". One question though: wouldn't it have been a lot cooler to use John Logie Baird (who really did invent TV) instead of Berners-Lee.
This inventory got me to wondering which shows do have a character's fandom mentioned throughout a series? The two that popped to mind were Harry Stone's love for Mel Torme in "Night Court" (Torme eventually became a frequent guest) and Barbara's Elton John fandom on "One Day at a Time" (who never did appear).

"Rappin' Duke" got namechecked on Biggy's "Juicy" so it's got that going for it.

Didn't Joe Pesci also do an album where he sang in the persona of his Italian mobster characters? I only remember this because I saw an ad for it on (I could not make this up) on BET.

Will was Asner pretty grumpy during the interview? I understand him not wanting to talk about voice over work or B-movies, but what exactly was the idea he had for Fort Apache? And why didn't he address the controversy over whether "Lou Grant" got cancelled over political pressure?

Saw in both in middle school (late 80s) and high school in small town Eastern Washington. I also had a high school teacher (strangely enough the definition of "hippie") who used to play us those "backward masking" tapes.
