I hope you can find time for "Turn On", the Laugh-In knockoff that got cancelled after one showing in 1969.  True the Paley Center collection is the only place I know that has the series, but wouldn't a pop culture nut like you find a reason to go there anyway?

Couple of weeks ago I saw a Match Game episode where the clue involved Col. Sanders.  Nipsey said something like "you know to chickens Col. Sanders is like Adolf Eichmann" to nervous laughter from the other panelists.  Now THAT could never be aired today.

Indeed the reason Lebeau always wore long sleeves was to cover up his inmate identification tattoo.  Weren't all the Germans on the show Jewish actors?  I think the reason they justified that was that the Germans on the show were so stupid that it made a mockery of the Nazis.

And satisfied my inexplicable fetish for Donna Pescow.

Pretty much.  Hundreds of new independent stations launched in the 80s due to deregulation, and a whole boatload of awful syndie sitcoms popped up to serve them: Throb, What A Country, She's The Sherrif, new versions of Gidget and WKRP(!), non-network runs of Charles in Charge, etc.

Okay, that is the one franchise that is truly hated.

Noel, like many "For Your Consideration" articles it suffers from too much exposure to the blogosphere.  For 99% of real life viewers watch a show because they enjoy it; there are too many options to watch a show solely to rag on it.
Plus there are a lot more sports fans who don't hate on anything.  I live in the

Saw later last week "Wrecking Crew", a fantastic doc on all the great session musicians (Hal Blaine, Carol Kaye, Glen Campbell, etc.) who played on all the west coast pop records in the 60s at Tacoma's Grand Cinema.  Mixed all those amazing hits with tons of stories of the heyday of Top 40.  Probably coming out on

Are you ripping "Remote Control"?  How can you do that to the show that gave us "Brady Physics"?
