I can think of 2 you forgot off of the top of my head again
The Matrix: everything that happened in "the matrix" was essentially a dream.

I guess I took it for granted that anybody who would read this would know the "Doug" I was talking about was Doug Martsch, best known as the singer and guitarist for Built to Spill. The Halo Benders were a side project Martsch did with Calvin Johnson, the deep-voiced K Records guy. They put out three albums, and

you forgot 2 I can think of off the top of my head
one being that Halo Benders song from "God Don't Make No Junk" where Doug sings "you would never do me in and act like, like you're doing me a favor, by putting me in all the papers that you read in places…." I think it's called "On A Tip."

Fair enough…actually I think my opinion might be based on the fact that I had to pee pretty bad for the last hour or so of the movie, but I didn't wantto leave the theater for fear of missing something.

(Kimchi is not good? Are you Korean?)

The Matrix + Shutter Island = Inception
The Matrix because of the "is this all a dream?" part, and Shutter Island because DiCaprio is screwed up over a crazy lady who killed herself.

Yeah, and "the Hills" never happened. Bigot.

Racism is the USA's #1 Export
Yeah.

Forgive me. I speak virtually no Korean. I saw that somebody was making random comments in Japanese, and since this article is about "k-town," I figured I'd make a random comment in Korean, since it is within my power to do so. Since I know how to say about three things in Korean and all.

Mr. Snarky returns
I totally agree about the end of Blade Runner. I wish I could remember exactly what Batty says so I could quote it here without looking it up…"I've seen something something Crab Nebula or something." The replicant has more appreciation for his life because he knows it's ending. And then the paper

Yeah, and I just looked up "metonymy" on Wikipedia, like you did a couple days ago, and no, "deus ex Milton" is not metonymy.

The last word of the third paragraph that I wrote in the last post should be "would" and not "do." As I state in the fourth paragraph, I have no idea what you're talking about with your fancy words you found on Wikipedia.

I can go to dictionary.com and look up fancy words too, smartass.

Shirts!
Does he say "shirts" there towards the end?

Never listen to British people!

Never listen to British people!

You are right that it flows off the tongue better, and I knew exactly what he meant by it, so I guess I shoulda just not sed nuthin. Ha ha. But I disagreed about the end of Office Space, and I felt like being snarky.

One more thing to ponder: the term came from the use of crane-things on stage in ancient Greece, but how many times has "deus ex machina" been employed since then, in movies, plays, novels, whatever, WITHOUT literally using the crane things?

You said "mekhane" and not "machina." Sorry for misquoting you.
