Tonedeff's 'Porcelain'… I might choke up a tiny bit every time I hear it. That's some seriously heartfelt hippity hop right there.

(also straps on helmet, armor) I know that movie is all too quirk/indie and stuff, but I have to agree for the same reasons. Also, the split screen real/imagined scene where Tom and Summer are at the party IS totally heartbreaking in a very relatable way.

She was pretty mean in Big Top Pee-wee, too. She wasn't having any of his hijinx, ESPECIALLY his talking pig, Vance. Until the end where Pee-wee turned all the cranky adults into kids again so they would accept his tornado-born circus. What a terrible movie. Anyway, R.I.P.

I am not sure if this has been brought up already, but I'll throw in Six Feet Under's 'That's My Dog'. Effectively unsettling, yes, but completely out of pace/character with the rest of the mostly-stellar series. When it was over, I wasn't entirely sure what I had just watched. However, I thought it was really

that this has been mentioned already, but pretty much all of Freaks and Geeks. There are so many amazing uses of amazing music in amazing TV/movies, but few have been half as poignant and just… absolutely hands-down… completely perfect.
