…and it's a terrific film, too.

ROBOCOP and DIE HARD were two movies I was forced to watch when they turned up on video, and I was blown away by both.  the trailer for DIE HARD had looked absolutely awful, and just the idea of ROBOCOP was ridiculous (I didn't realize it would have a sense of humor about it).  I can't say these were *improved*

@lethargyclad:disqus I'm uh… actually not a big fan of that song.

I think MARNIE is one of the few examples where he deliberately made things look artificial (and the Dali sequence in SPELLBOUND).  Other times, I think he did his best, and sometimes it worked beautifully (the carousel rampage in STRANGERS ON A TRAIN, the skyline in ROPE) and sometimes it was just awful (most of his

MEMENTO is air-tight perfect.  It's not as crazily entertaining as GOODFELLAS, but it's as beautifully crafted and inarguably a much more morally rich film, so, no, I don't see a problem.

Oh, I wish I could've gone into that unspoiled…

GOODFELLAS  and MEMENTO are about as close to perfectly-constructed films as you can get, and probably in my top ten, but my favorite move is still AGUIRRE, THE WRATH OF GOD, then probably McCABE & MRS. MILLER.
