What's that gesture he makes just befoe he jumps?
Is he supposedly shooting a web up at the sky or something? Looks kinda Liza Minnelli-ish.

EYES WIDE SHUT is what I thought of, too. How hypocritical.
Edward Hopper saw a Thomas Kincade catalog
— and still hasn't stopped throwing up.
….and the MCP looked just awful.
I think the film is not just a mess, but just poor in almost every way. There are some good special effects leading up to a huge whopper of a bad one: the MCP. The whole movie seems to be leading up to this big reveal, and when we finally see it, it looks like something my Atari…
I'm really glad to know that she works regularly, because she doesn't have the sort of "look" that would usually get a person big roles. Clearly people want to work with her because her talent is recognized, and there's just not enough of that these days.
Battlecar Compactica makes a very good point. I had a theater teacher who told me I went to far with a particular stunt because I would literally hurt myself doing it. Her point was that it wasn't going to make the audience laugh; they'd be too preoccupied with whether or not I was hurt that it would remind them of…
I hated TERMS OF ENDEARMENT. I thought BROADCAST NEWS was terrific, AS GOOD AS IT GETS really works despite the elephant in the room (there is NO WAY she would be with that guy), and SPANGLISH was all right. (I actually thought Leoni did a good job with her awful character.)
Melissa Leo plays the mother. She was also amazing in FROZEN RIVER.
I think you could make a strong case for BARRY LYNDON being Kubrick's best movie.
THE FIGHTER is all right
Just good enough to get a recommendation, but barely. Leo is the great performance here; Bale's is pretty good, but it's a kinda self-conscious performance.
There's a book that reconstructs the film, and the section about it in Bogdonavich's THIS IS ORSON WELLES is very good, though suspect because Welles would edit or re-write their interviews as Peter submitted manuscript pages to him.
One of the greatest artists I didn't investigate much
I thought TROUT MASK REPLICA was amazing, but it wasn't the sort of album I could just throw on and listen to. Maybe as an older adult I could. I recognized that it was good and every now and then one of the songs would slip onto a mix tape, but something about…
@ idiotking
I'll see any movie Cuaron makes
For now, anyway. He's the real star of this thing.
I pretty much agree with everything you wrote.
Pepper is usually really good.
Matt Damon
I haven't seen TRUE GRIT yet and unfortunately did see HEREAFTER. I was hoping Damon's game would be fully on in TRUE GRIT, though.
I gave in and looked it up. You're right; I was right. Then I was wrong, then fooling around, now right.
