I wish I could watch this for the first time again
If Lacuna, Inc. were around,I'd get my brain wiped of THE WEST WING, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, MEMENTO, and certain other choice entertainments once year or so. They're great to re-watch, but seeing them for the first time is really special. I'm glad for you, Steve!

That version of Peter Pan is pretty terrific.

So he does the podcasts as charity? Thanks for clearing that up.

Okay, so my post was kind of mean. I apologize for that.

INTERIORS was mine, Scott
I was about 14 years old and bought a VCR because my parents wouldn't. The local audio-visual store k ew me, so they let me put a couple hundred down and then pay it off literally with my lunch money. (Huge old JVC VCR with colorful buttons and a wired remote.)

Nathan, please…
Instead of stubbornly hanging on to your vocal mannerisms, do what any professional would do: Get a voice coach. Get some training. This is your JOB; take it seriously. Your voice trails off, sir. WE CAN'T HEAR YOU. Your disregard for your audience is insulting.

Big Star
Not exactly the Stax sound, but they were on the label, right? I wonder if they wind up on any of the comps.

TRAFFIC
Topher might not have earned a lifetime pass for TRAFFIC, but he was really, really good in that. There's that moment in Cincinnati when I thought Michael Douglas was seriously going to strangle him, scripted or no. And it was hilarious.

TOO SOON
Come back at a never time.

…if we're talking about BIRDY.

That moment was brilliant.

WHO'S NEXT is the most obvious gateway ever
Are you kidding me? LEEDS is terrific, but WHO'S NEXT is one of the two or three most inarguably great rock records so far. Is anything, cut for cut, more unassailable? THE CARS? CHEAP TRICK AT BUDAKON? THE BAND? HIGHWAY 61 REVISITED? BORN TO RUN? BEGGAR'S BANQUET?

I remember really hating that movie, and Cage in it. I've tried to give it another shot since then, but I canceled my Netflix account to save money and the library copies are way too scratched up to play.

Wasn't 8MM directed by Schumacher, too?

Uh… he's a state champion wrestler whom you never see wrestle. He hits a home run but it sails into Mean Lady's yard and she won't give it back. He gets fresh with a hot nurse but then backs off even though she likes it. War has turned his face to hamburger under his bandages.

BIRDY
Other than precisely one awful line reading at the end ("YEAH! that's what we're gonna do!"), this is one of Cage's best performances. I would say that he was still young enough that if he was going to have a career, he was going to have to CARE, but then there's PEGGY SUE GOT MARRIED not longer after, so who

Doesn't Rob Lowe make… um… pretty bad decisions?
Seems like when Rob's in a position to do what he wants, he makes some pretty bad decisions.

Actually, he had his moment in the TWILIGHT ZONE movie…

"I have a lot of at-home experience…"
Did anybody else think, "Ewwwwwww"?
