Football games themselves don't factor in a huge amount. Trust a guy who doesn't like football at all.

The kid tries so, so hard… it's pretty painful sometimes to see what life hands to him.

Plus, sometimes little things have so much impact because of the accumulated story. Saracen's drunken wail "What's WRONG with me!?" just killed me.

Bemused —

It's a fucking terrific show. At least, the first two seasons (I haven't seen this one yet). Even when some wildly improbable shit went down, they pulled it off. The first season is pretty much classic TV. During the very first episode, I was so moved I got misty-eyed.

Yeah — Dillon was pretty flat out awful.

A HARD DAY'S NIGHT is pretty good.

SPINAL TAP is a good choice.

Heckle and hide.

Not the greatest movie in the world, but I really really really like GRACE OF MY HEART.

Ooooh. QUADROPHENIA is a good choice.

THE LAST WALTZ?
STOP MAKING SENSE?
DON'T LOOK BACK?

I kinda don't get it
That review reads almost exactly like all the reasons I couldn't stand this movie.

One of my favorite video store memories was playing THE KING OF COMEDY during hours. Inevitably you would wind up seeing some customer staring up at the screen, kind of horrified at Rupert Pupkin, and then turn and ask, almost indignant, "Who the hell IS that!?" and I'd say "That's Robert DeNiro" and they'd say "No…"

I second the meh on THE BRIDGE. Or third, or whatever. The execution calls to mind that great William Hurt quote from HISTORY OF VIOLENCE: "How do you fuck THAT up!?"

I worked at Tower in Sacramento with a guy who had worked at Tower in Los Angeles. He said one of his favorite moments was when Cher tipped him a small amount of coke when her car was parked in the handicapped spot.

I think the unanswered question was whether anyone in the family had ever seen a chicken.

It was pretty pivotal in a pretty terrific movie. I'm surprised it took us this long to remember it.

DRUGSTORE COWBOY
Did we forget this one?
