…Harlan Ellison, too; another writer whose stuff doesn't hold up much at all.

Casey Affleck
I guess his career is finally starting to heat up, but I'd still like to see Casey get more work.
No no no no no wait — I'm gonna freeze my ass off and play some strange board game with really unclear rules in some post-something Altman movie no one will ever figure out.
I'm gonna star with my wife in a pretty darned good movie.
The original book on tape was read by John Cleese. That was a treat.
THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS - C.S. Lewis is another one.
Yup — junior high is a great time for Vonnegut.
Other than SLAUGHTERHOUSE FIVE, Vonnegut's stuff does less and less for me as I grow older. Richard Brautigan, too, though I used to love IN WATERMELON SUGAR.
ROUND UP - Ring Lardner short stories
The books I recommend most often
MYSTERY TRAIN is a really good call, even if it doesn't make my list. Marcus starts to disappear up his own ass after that, though, and even Robbie Robertson thought he was finding meaning and influences where there were none.

I guess "Oh, snap!!!" would apply here?
I remember watching that with my roommate circa 1987, knowing nothing about it except it was a Scorsese movie and "that guy from American Werewolf" was in it. We laughed so fucking hard — especially at the "I'm gonna get blamed for that" line. Great stuff.
"You're street trash! Scum!"
I'll hop on the FRENCH CONNECTION = meh and EXORCIST = yay bandwagon. As long as it's rolling through.
No one will ever read this
But what the hell.
Neil, Neil, Neil…
What the heck happened to this guy? He started out so well.
