One of my favorite aspects of Defiance was how every alien species had its own language and how they'd often do whole scenes in Castithan, Indogene, or Omec. That whole show was an epic feat of world-building.
Honestly, the least believable part of the first movie wasn't the mega prison or the conspiracy theory or the pairing of Arnold and Sly. It was the expert computer hacker being played by 50 Cent.
