RONIN is pretty sick. Frankenheimer is from the same era as Hill too. I wonder what it is that those guys knew about action cinema that these new dudes cant seem to grasp.

Good call! It did remind me of something Walter Hill might have done in the late 90s. And that geezer is the man. He's one of my all time favorite directors.

WAY OF THE GUN is so fucking awesome it changed my perceptions of Ryan Phillipe. He always came across as such an arrogant pussy that I was floored when he not only managed to play a convincing badass, he held his own with Benicio. I honestly have a hard time figuring out who I loved more between those two. All I know

He really is.

He really is.

He really did go for broke and that episode of WORKAHOLICS is the only one I could ever stomach. Those 3 guys annoy the shit outta me but D'Elia's performance was fucking hysterical. He tackled that role with the same gusto Will Forte had for MACGRUBER.

The Tatyana Ali episode was pretty hysterical. Its still too early to be sure, but so far the Eric Andre Show is shaping up to be my favorite subversion of late night talk shows. The maniac tone of it all just makes me smile, even if a joke or two fails.

I watched STRANGERS WITH CANDY during its original run, back when it was rare for a show to focus on such a gross and utterly reprehensible person, and Amy played that role so straight and so convincing, that my sister truly believed Sedaris really looked as hideous as Jerri in real life.
