I am also one of these huge fans of TMP. I think it's insanely underrated and a fascinating piece of sci-fi filmmaking. I love its ambition, its scope, its crazy gorgeousness (uniforms aside), its thoughtful approach, and I've never found it the least bit boring.

That whole scene is awful and pointless. And all of Spock Prime's talk of "must not disturb history and you must find your own way" etc. is so ridiculous given how much the timeline has been screwed around with. You don't want to fill them in on Khan, but you are A-OK with the whole destruction of Vulcan thing

Not even assigning it, if I'm reading this correctly. Merely *recommending* it. Just saying "hey, here's some books that are good, and maybe you'd like to read one," and they're being all ZOMG BEWBS YOU ARE OFFENDING MY CHRISTIAN PURITY.

This "dubsmash" thing might be the stupidest trend I've been made aware of in some time.

It's just taking doctor unknown's superbly irritating style to its natural conclusion.

I have no dog in this hunt - I haven't watched TWD since the farmhouse, and I haven't seen this - but I do find it amusing/weird how the entirety of the AVC is poised to rip anything TWD-related to shreds for any flaw.

Thanks But I Think I'll Just Stick To Watching Screamales Videos That Have Nothing To Do With Taylor Swift, Internet!

Yeah, "Manic Monday and Hazy Shade of Winter are their best" my ass. All Over the Place is a great album of power pop, and it being buried by all the cheesy cookie-cutter stuff they did later after being steamrolled by their label is one of music's great injustices.

Yeah, what the hell? The Go-Gos and the Bangles are awesome. Beauty and the Beat and All Over The Place are both fantastic albums.

The modern obsession that gamers have about multiplayer FPSs is completely lost on me. I can't stand playing online multiplayer. I'll play against well-done bots (one reason I loved the Unreal Tournament games), but I have absolutely zero interest in doing the same thing with people online.

I was excited by the prospect of girl power, and expected something rocking and great, but this is just indie hipster whateverness and the lead vocal is trending a little too much into that weird swallowing-words indie affectation for me.

I watched the video, and it makes me think about a trend in modern Web publishing, so forgive the rant. While it is not supremely irritating, and so is better than 99% of GJ,I!s, it was one of the modern Web trend of "let's make a video when we could easily just make a written article" that I am irked by. There was

*scrolls past six Taylor Swift thinkpieces*

It was at SXSW last year. I don't know who played before them, but they played right before Ex Hex, which was who I was there to see, so there was a pretty big energy differential going on.

Maybe it's the "dreamy" production that puts me off. I like my retro girl group sound to have more of an edge/bite. It made me really miss The Like.

I happened across them at SXSW last year while waiting for Ex Hex to perform. They all seemed very pleasant but it felt like there was some kind of detached affectation going on that I got kind of put-off by.

La Luz is a band that, theoretically, I should love. It has all sorts of elements that I love - combo organ, surf guitar, vintage-y sounds and production, etc. - yet I have never gotten into them. I've listened to previous recordings and even seem them live but they always seem so…bored? Detached? The songs I've

That's flat-out depressing. Fuck.

"Radio's working like a Swiss…car!"

He was also set up to play Ray on the animated adaptation of Achewood, had it gone beyond the test footage stage. He was great even in said test footage.
