I just watched it tonight and…I agree. As a "World War Z" adaptation, it was a complete failure, but looked at on its own with a bit of distance from the whole "it's not like the book" thing, it's honestly a pretty solid film on its own merits.

Again, though, that's not so much "Star Wars" as "generic hero's journey" or whatever.
Of all the criticisms one can make about the new Star Trek films, I've never understood the "Abrams turned it into Star Wars" one. I've never found anything about the new films to be remotely Star Wars-like.
"Look - if you wanted to talk about pet care, you should have called two weeks ago, when our show on racism was airing!"
Good grief - I had thought the "WTC was an empty shell" thing HAD to be made-up, but nope! Truthers continue to astound me with their bizarre explanations: http://www.conspiracy-cafe….
Skinner: Well, I was wrong. The lizards are a godsend.
I agree, actually. I was first introduced to her via the New Pornographers, and loved it ("Mass Romantic" is a pretty much unimpeachable album in my book), and so I checked out some of her solo songs, but found them all kind of un-engaging and sleepy.
That's a deep cut. Nicely done.
Just make sure to not do anything that will prevent the hologram from being "VISBLE."
The mockbuster you're thinking of is "RobertCop." http://www.bootlegactionfig…
Yeah…I'll grant Oldman and Keaton, and sure, Jackson, why not, but they don't add up to "better" than the original cast. Especially for the main guy - Peter Weller owns that role. And after that, you've got Kurtwood Smith (at his balls-out nuttiest/awesomest), Ronnie Cox, Miguel Ferrar, Ray Wise…
Disagree.
Any publicity is good publicity.
Him directing this is suuuuuuper random.
I did, however, hastily put together a screenshot and upload it to our server, to preserve the insanity for future generations: http://diabolicalmachinesba…
It was fun while it lasted - it's all fixed and corrected and the gleefully baffling madness is gone.
This is truly a perfectly conceived article of amazingness.
