This Inventory can't be considered complete without a mention of pre-Underworld glam pop ponces Freur. I believe they only had the name 'Freur' bestowed upon them because the band name was actually represented by a sort of circular squiggle, and they figured 'freur' was what it sounded like.

If it's Ayoade you're after, probably worth investigating Nathan Barley too. It's very up and down, but it's also got (and by) Chris Morris, which means it should be SO much better than it is. Still worth a peek though.

David Warner. The man's been in everything, ever.

Completely agreed on Is Dead. Full disclosure - I know the square root of fuck all about hip hop. But I loved the singles on 3ft, and bought Is Dead out of loyalty to the one non-honky band in my collection, and it absolutely blew me away.

See, this is the problem I have with this fella. The reviews are always packed with references to people I like (Human League, Prince, Washed Out, etc, etc), which make me want to buy his records.
