Almost every description of him outside of the show includes the adjectives "cold" and "aloof". He also was known to hold a grudge forever (Joan Rivers

Oh my god I just remembered I dreamed about pantomime Secretariat last night!

I remember the apology - meh, good enough for me. I'd figured out by then that there wasn't really any point to expecting entertainers to be moral/social leaders. I seem to recall also that her original statement included the sentiment that AIDS was punishment…repellent as that is, I went through the same thing, I

Yes. Unfortunately.

Has to be an oversight? It has to be.

I hope you never have reason to stop being satisfied with yourself and with what you know now.

I also remembering my mother sneering at how unflattering the spaghetti strapped dresses were on her. Which, was true.

I'm pretty sure it said she was an established, long-time character, and that it was at odds with the on-screen character's image, but I could be misremembering - it was a long time ago.

Yes! This is a perfect description of the dynamic between the two shows. Fantasy Island was just late enough, it could be a little more "adult" in its themes.

Also, "You want your LILA?"

An episode with Tina Louise being possessed by a long-dead Spanish countess, or something - that was scary stuff.

AND his father was Allen Jones, romantic lead in the Marx Bros. "A Night At The Opera".

I have to say, seeing those magazine covers really made me miss TV Guide.  We got it for the listings, but I devoured the articles. It's hard to believe now, but they contained some good journalism. I also practically memorized the "movie listings" in the back of each issue. I wasn't allowed to watch most of them, but

Count me in. It introduced me to Michael Gambon! The cast all-around was terrific, and it was the first time I realized how funny Johnny Depp could be (he was great as Ed Wood, but that wasn't really a comic performance).

In my defense - somehow the single "o" always made the two esses look more conspicuous. I guess that's not a defense of anything, is it.

You feel this unfairness on his behalf? How does he feel about it?

Vidal Sassoon sued the makers of "Sasson" designer jeans (they were a real thing), for obvious reasons. The ruling was that it was legal to name your product something which was the name of another product, as long as the actual products didn't compete (so jeans were okay, but shampoo would not have been).
