I'll be goddamned if I can remember what show Anne Heche was on, tv-wise, that made her so famous. I know it was something…all I can remember is that dream I had that I was wrapped in a sheet, and floating through the back yard of the house she shared with Ellen Degeneres. I remember her saying something funny in that.
I don't think Jann Wenner has much to do with Rolling Stone anymore - does he? I could be totally wrong.
I know Winona Ryder has her fans, but honestly I don't think she could have made anything any better.
Gordon Jump - he was my other choice.
I couldn't put my finger on what was wrong with it. I mean, Doris Day AND Jack Lemmon? Beautiful Maine locations? Then it hit me: "Oh, she's just not very good in this movie." It took me awhile because up 'til then she'd been pretty special
even in the not-so-great movies I'd seen.
I remember seeing a promo before "Newhart" debuted. I'd been so excited that Bob Newhart had a new show, but the promo looked so…ugly, and flat, as did the eventual show itself. When TV Guide said the second season they'd switch to film, I got it - "Ah, that was video, like Three's Company. Video is for crap shows!"
I noticed the teeth too.
That story he told about his mom had me laughing the rest of the day. "I told them you were dead to me!"
I don't know if it's because I know about Chevy Chase's complaints, but it really does seem like he gets less and less camera time. And I am totally okay with that. He had his chance.
Jessie White??? Or did someone else play the Maytag Repairman later?
I kind of love that story.
@morgendorffer …how embarrassing…I seem to have only read the first part of the post before I responded…never mind
Actually, Pauline Kael said that about 45 years ago, in a review of "Madame X" - she said it was depressing that first you see Lana Turner in a Lana Turner mask, but it makes a little sense because she's supposed to be younger, but then you see Constance Bennett in a Constance Bennett mask and it's just depressing.
GOd I forgot about that - that was actually hilarious.
I finally saw it. It was awfully nice to see Sigourney Weaver - in fact, it was perfection. I almost wanted it to be two movies, like Hellboy and The GOlden Army, with the exploration of the horror mythos saved mostly for the sequel.
Well, that's too bad for you, that you do that. I do the same thing with regards to certain sized tattoos and their placements, meaning I don't see said tattoo bearers as having anything worthwhile to say - which is probably too bad for me.
I disliked The Breakfast Club so much that I avoided Pretty In Pink like the plague, and have still never seen it. I might have to remedy that. Valley Girl was great, though.
Lists suck - here's mine!
Worst what? Singer? Actress? I think when she was engaged in what she was doing, she was flat-out incandescent (her performance in "Pillow Talk" is the best example of this - by far).
