Seeing it Friday with my 10 year old nephew.  He also picked it over The Muppets, either of which I would have been very happy with too.

I did!  And I agree that it was funny, for exactly that loose/anything-goes quality.  When I've seen her play "herself" on game shows, or in this show, I've always found her really funny and loose, even a little bawdy - she's always just seemed like she is having a good time.

I saw that in the theater when it was new and remember being very very disappointed overall.  I watched it recently and liked it a LITTLE more, but still - nah, not really.

I agree with everything but "Unlike Muppet Caper…it stands the test of time".  The songs in The Muppet Movie are definitely better; ok, actually, I think The Muppet Movie IS better, overall, but The Great Muppet Caper is pretty terrific.  Piggy's water ballet is still one of my favorite things ever.

And I mis-read your post…somehow I saw "The Dark Knight" instead of "Batman & Robin".  Nnnnever mind - Batman & Robin TOTALLY Brittad the series.

You mean did it so well that any shortcomings that any shortcomings revealed must be regarded as part of the source material?  I don't think you're using the term "Britta'd" correctly.

Oh.  Oh yeah.  I totally forgot there was a movie with that title…the phrase still seems to me like something from a hybrid of Dark Shadows and '70s Disney/Jody Foster movies.

She believed I was coming on to her manager/boyfriend.  She looked right at me from  the stage when she said "I have a younger boyfriend, because I can.  He's also my manager".

By her own account, she had both the effort and the massive problem.

Yeah.  She fell a lot further in the last ten years than I did, and not just because she had farther to fall (not that she did).

I met her about 10 years ago when she did a concert at a venue I worked at.  It was pretty sparsely attended though - she walked out and said "Oh look, literally DOZENS of you came!"  We chatted for a little bit before the show.

I don't think of them as "guests", but I guess not all guests are welcome.  At least they didn't overstay their non-existent welcome.

I don't think anyone ever actually says "Welcome to Collinwood", ever.  It's not a welcoming place.  Perhaps you are thinking of Candleshoe?

The really weird thing is that when Annie was trying to find something he was in, my friend murmured "Boogie Nights" under his breath, BUT - and here's the weird part - when a short time later Guzman said "And this was WAY before 'Boogie Nights'", same friend said 'Was HE in 'Boogie Nights'"?

Go on.

Since Falco's song "Der Kommisar" is mentioned several times in these comments, I just wanted to share this with everyone (sorry, I could only find the live version)

This exists (I could only find the live version)

I agree that the LP didn't come into its own during the Everly Brothers era (which era is still going on now, but then I love the EB).  BUT - there is one Everly Brothers album I've recommended wholeheartedly from beginning to end to friends: Everly Brothers Sing Great Country Hits http://www.amazon.com/Sing-… It's

I can't tell from your post if you know that AMC used to be commercial-free too, til about 10 years or so ago.  Robert Osborn even used to introduce the movies there.

Noggin was great - that's where I discovered "Daria"
