I like Wolf Man and the way Lon Chaney Jr. plays the role of Talbot with sincerity, as he did through all the sequels.  However I can see where the movie may let someone down if you had certain expectations built up over the years.

You have to love David Manners as the leading man who did the least in these films. Seriously if you were a girl in trouble in these movies and David Manners is in the lead role you had better save yourself or hope he has some help.

I saw Temple of Doom in the theatre as well.  I was younger and still handled the heart rip out scene better than I handled Zelda.
