Oh, right. Movies.
This is the first time in as long as I can remember that I truly felt awe while watching a movie. The entire Joseph Gordon-Levitt hotel sequence held me through its sheer craft.

wait wait wait wait wait
what about that episode of x files where ed asner and lily tomlin try to get people to kill each other?

I found preacher pretty ugly and stupid. Like he created a story based on how many instances of violent rape and torture he could think up. And then gave it to a fifteen year-old kid on meth to flesh out.

Hm
What do the Clientele think of this?

I mean, look at pixar, playing off on how cool old people with dead wives are. Not to mention the preteen obsession with Ed Asner.

My problem with that article wasn't so much the concept that the technical flair took away from the immediacy of the scene, it's that so many of us felt the exact opposite when we watched it and that was somehow the incorrect feeling to have. The argument basically boiled down to how your mind reacted to the scene,

You have contributed so much to this conversation.

CoM
I like this article as much as I hated your article on children of men. How apt.

Character actors
Let us not forget Endless Mike from Pete and Pete…

No, I will give it up for Mikhail, who is awesome. Now when do we find out what he's been up to on the island?

MIKKKKKHHHHAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

go team!
I really dug the scene where everyone worked to change Fi's passport. I don't really think we see the gang work together so perfectly, especially with Michael taking mostly a supporting role. I wish they'd do that more often, show the fluid dynamic between the three.

Where the fuck is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALT, String?

YES YES YES
BURN NOTICE IS BACK I AM WHOLE AGAIN

Being There?

DO YOU REMEMBER???? WHEN I KILLED YOUR BROTHER? AND I SPOKE…JUST…LIKE…THIS!!!!!!!!

Yeah, none of the characters or scenarios in life acquatic felt real or conesquential, the whole experience left me feeling distant. Like, I'm sure wes anderson is enjoying this, but in the end i sort of shrugged my shoulders. Royal Tenenbaums, on the other hand, had some achingly well-drawn characters amid the

The life aquatic was like royal tenenbaums but more colorful and without emotions.

So does this mean we're currently in a Departed backlash?

Doesn't mean that they don't reward good movies every once in a while. I thought the Departed fucking amazing and it absolutely deserves to be on this list.
