you have no empathy for Judy Davis ..
.. and the Alzheimers .. no?
edit: ah, scroll laddie, scroll; I see Mad Sheltie already made that connection ..
if it means Oscar Isaac goes on to pursue his career as a thespian, I couldn't give a fried Jawa what happens to Edgar Allan in this Flim.
maybe not that soon, but with a Salacious Crumb flim (yeah yeah) slated for 2022, surely even a few of the hardcore will start to question their devotion to this hokey religion ..
I get the hopeful feeling that Oscar Isaac will be leaving this circus after one flim, much like Liam Neeson.
fork in the eye would be a more appropriate punishment.
cheers; Bell is painted as a pretty interesting guy in the doco.
will definitely investigate the Rob-J-somethin's bio, thanks!
Pops gave into his anger, and with each passing moment made himself more your servant.
uh huh; I kinda got that impression - from the little I've heard of his solo stuff, it seems his guitar playing was pretty versatile though; could adapt pretty seamlessly into most styles - bio a decent read? apart from the music itself and a couple of old interviews, I've only seen the Nothing Can Hurt Me doco, which…
yeah I did know that 'Careful' was from the Hell/Verlaine days, I have a live version somewhere from back then which I slightly prefer over the Adventure version… but nah, not one of my fave Television tracks by any stretch .. glad you dig it though!
hmm, I don't care for that track myself …
I'm glad we got both versions; could've done with better-recorded Hellevision, and more prime-time Television, though (I'm not one of those who thinks Adventure is underrated; there are probably 3 songs on that album that I reeeally like, and the rest just sounds really watered-down, to me ..)
Agree to disagree Jeff; I loved some of those songs; 'hard on love', 'fire engine'' 'double exposure', 'kingdom come', I reeeally liked all of those, despite the roughness of both the recordings and the playing - the sloppy-ish playing I can handle, I just wish I had better sounding recordings because some of them are…
oh nice one; I'll look into it, thanks!
I don't vouch for him.
Like everyone, I am a huge fan of Marquee Moon, but it wasn't until relatively recently
that I heard a bunch of old demos and live recordings of Television when Richard Hell was their bassist/sometime vocalist.
at a guess, I'd say money?
I dunno; I think the story of the Shaggs is rightfully coloured by the unfortunate fact that they just didn't really want to make music - even years later when interviewers have tried to bait them into celebrating their cult-y status, the 2 surviving sisters didn't want a bar of it and freely said they thought their…
… oh and there are a heap of covers on that 2nd compilation album, surprisingly though, apart from Gimme Dat Ding (which is pretty darn catchy), they are all *WOEFUL* - not even in the cool, mysterious way in which 'Philosophy of the World' was bad, just really really bad in an unmitigated sense.
The nuggets on that…
