Radio Head by Talking Heads would be right up there as one of Talking Heads very worst songs (a short list) - but it's still better than probably %75 of Radiohead's mopey nonsense.

OH. GOD.
yeah, his success is completely inexplicable to me.

what is wrong, in my life?

now *that's* how you Hate!!

I'd say an abomination, but horrible works.
not sure why we need a consensus though; that's unpossible.

oh aye, was trying to recall 'Blue', possibly my fave of FYC's songs - was never a big fan, but found them pretty enjoyable, didn't mind Roland Gift's voice, and the guitar/bass stuff was always simple, unpretentious and catchy.

yeah I'm still diggin' on 'Wakin …' - man, 'Was all talk' is such a great track, but then nearly the whole album is perfect.

his 'Dancin' across the USA' is neeeeearly as catchy as 'Holiday Road', and well worth a listen. Also featured in one of the Vacation movies.

I'd argue that Buckingham's songs on Mirage rival any he's written; it's just a pity there's too few of them on the album.

Ace - I've been listening to 'Wakin on a Pretty Daze' flat out for the past two weeks, now I can sink my teeth into this one!

I often used to mix these guys up with Air, because I'm an asshole.
Air is way better though, futuristic helmets or no.

yeah I'm pretty tired of Rowling sharing her Extended Head Canon with us too - let yer stoopid wizard books stand on their own!

there are definitely moments where I've heard a weirdly 'Asian' sound arising from that very vocal/guitar mimicry that you mention, something about their very singular vocal melodies rendered along with the fuzztone evokes some weird stuff, man

I disagree; Dot and Betty are totally in synch with each other; their vocals run line-for-line, and Dot's lead guitar lines follow the the vocals fairly faithfully.
But the two of them seemingly refuse to get behind drummer Helen, who often plays a steadier beat than it seems throughout each song.
They always seem like

I dunno about brilliance, but I did find their album genuinely fascinating for a
while - 'Who Are Parents' is one of the saddest songs I've ever
heard.

I know, but *Honey*

That's Bill *Parker* y'understand …

Other great (well, good) ode's to onanism:

you don't like the extended version with the extra tracks?
not sure if that's what you're saying, but I have played both versions a lot and I think the leaner version (which I originally had on *tape*) probably worked better as a listening experience - the added tracks to the cd release were very welcome, but overall I

Electricity (Drugs), and Drugs (Electricity) both featured on the live album The Name of This Band is Talking Heads.
The earlier version is all drone-y verse and spikey, yelpy chorus, the Expanded Heads version is dirty and sexy and weirdly funky.
