Lennon has panned approx. %59 of all Beatles songs in print at some point or another. Well, as long as that point was before 1980.

Every Little Thing is amazing, a McCartney song apparently but Lennon's vocal seems to cut through on the recording a bit more, and it has the vibe of one of his numbers - but yeah, a very very very good Macca song.

For No One is fucking great - also from a John fan

well perhaps a Bush Baby may take your minds off just how booooring space is .. ?

Bingo.

The thing that saddens/amuses me about *many* reactions to Walt's fate is the weird righteousness (I'd venture that this is a distinctly American attitude) people have invested.

I think part of the point @avclub-ca6cb47da12090ffd2470daf51f71be1:disqus is that Walt always carried this cancerous potential for destruction in his heart, as we all do.

I don't get this huge love of Ozymandias over the final two episodes - I absolutely loved both Granite State and Felina.

Jesse strangling Todd reminded me of No Country For Old Men.

in Walt's eyes it was the ultimate in poetic justice.

Gilligan and co never write anything extraneous to the plot if they don't have to; one of my favourite authors, Stephen Donaldson, is very much in this mould; largely a fantasy writer, he's like the opposite of Tolkien, no obsessive world-building, just tight focus on the characters and the plot.

Walt was reading a lot of newspapers in that charming lil' cabin, he had articles stuck up around the shack - he was tuned in to that shit, there was fuck-all on the t.v. and as soon as he heard the word 'science' his interest was piqued - I didn't have a problem with it.

rubbish, there are plenty of incredible songs that would make poor shagging-songs.

haha fuck you @avclub-7ffc7b9269a024d949b808e6856f525d:disqus , I logged in just to list that very toon - nice choice sir …

Difford and Tilbrook are definitely more of a 'team' if what I have discerned about the respective bands writing habits is correct - Colin Moulding wrote some pretty good songs, but it was generally the Andy Partridge show, whereas Difford and Tilbrook collaborate on every Squeeze song.

"Tempted" by a nose from "Pulling Mussells From A Shell" and "Another Nail In My Heart".
I find Squeeze wildly uneven in general, but their best is fucking great.
