Love love love those Christine Perfect McVie comments. The Mac did just fine as a blues band, thanks, John Mayall! Love you, Peter Green!

This strikes me as an odd question with odd responses.
I am relatively ancient, I suppose, when the obvious answer is Grateful Dead.
Not disappointed with their exclusion from the conversation, along with Widespread, Phish, O.A.R. etc etc, just curious as to why? Or should I delve deeper into the commentary?
Deadheads,

The Lavignemeter. All is judged thusly.

The Burn Notice burn for me was realizing that the girlfriend had already tango-ed away in Scent of a Woman, which also features a barely-there P Seymour H playing a preppie. It had to be one of his first parts.

Why are we defending Herman Cain, of all people? We like Stewart, we like Cenac, why are you stabbing me in the hand? Oh, right, it's citizen Cain, it's citizen Cain, it's Citizen Cain…

Wrong. "Alabama" was a powerful song, and "Southern Man" is too. But more importantly, there were no grudges.

I love the back and forth, but you've excluded the #! carol of all time: Hark the Herald Angels Sing. It's the most concise, it's the most singable, and it's a brilliant piece of work by (I think) one of the Wesleys. Adeste Fideles opens, Joy ends, but Hark the Herald is positioned at the high point of the program,

Why are we bringing Islam into this discussion, and are we discussing Shi'a, the dominant Persian faith or are we discussing Sunni? Do you know the difference?

Just because I don't understand the distinction here, tell me why Replacements, Husker Du, Minutemen and other bands with a minimalist approach don't qualify as "pop punk" please. I'll hang up and listen.

How about no-one? I'm 52 years old and have lived through the deaths of both my parents, as well as several other family members, and then I guess you start with Lennon. Add to that the random violence that seems endemic in this times, and no, I'm not shedding tears, just gob-smacked. But the exercise seems at least

I've always seen this song as a tribute to Howard Finster, the old man driving the bike in the video and the artist responsible for a surge of interest in "outsider" or "naive" art in the latter days of the 20th century. Finster designed the "Reckoning" album art with Stipe and did the Talking Heads' "Little

2 years away. D'oh

The Gene Wolfe project, listed above, will be time-consuming but well worth the trouble.  Basically, for all of you unaware, the original 4 books are about a distant-future feudal society, with aliens, slowly dying (hence the Jack Vance reference). It is written in an archaic form of English that takes time to even

Is it possible… that they got JAMMED?

What struck me was the juxtaposition between celebration and death. 3-2-1 defibrillator vs. 10-9-8 Happy New Year.

I guess you can wait for the spinoff.
