SaraJ is correct. I replied to you because what you described is not a hook, it is a basic plot outline. I was "hooked" (get it?) by the first season because of the flash forwards and non-linear storytelling. That same storytelling device (or, "Hook") is not used in season 2. So yeah, compare and contrast.
The "hook" of S1 was the mixed-up chronology. The early episodes had to lay a lot of groundwork in establishing the family member's characters, but the tensions between them were largely still bubbling under the surface.
