Yeah, they technically are supposed to be, but in the film industry they are usually willing to be pretty lax about it which is good. Any time I could get away with not getting college credit at an unpaid film internship I would, because you still have to pay for the credits and take some ridiculous class where you

Huh, that's interesting, not what I'd expect but of course it's not like I actually know either of them or whatever. I guess it's probably easier to come off as likeable when you're generally less in the public eye ala Odenkirk.

I'm really curious what the real-life rapport is like between Bob Odenkirk and David Cross because Cross has obviously had some well-documented instances of him being a pretty big dick, and Bob Odenkirk honestly seems like the nicest guy in the world. He seemed very concerned for a moment he wasn't going to get all

Mindy Kaling mentioned it in the New Yorker, I think there's been maybe a slate piece or two and some Grantland stuff that's discussed it. Doubt it's gotten much further past critic-types and the commenters that love them, but it's definitely been picked beyond the walls of AV Club proper.

Yeah, mostly really liked the movie but this took me out of it quite a bit. I don't mind using different cities as necessary, but there were a lot of major landmarks. The first cop chase/bat-plane sequence was so clearly in downtown LA (public library, US Bank building, Bonaventure Hotel) that my immediate reaction

Rape is NEVER funny!

Huh? Did Coachella have naked pictures of the councilman or something? That would actually make this story sort of interesting.

His appearance on this week's Comedy Bang Bang is delightful. Loved the Michael Bolton story.

To that list I would add Boyd's apparent decision to use the classic "loud beeping" remote-detonation system giving himself just enough time to realize what was happening and throw himself further clear of the blast. Why build a car-bomb that beeps?
